Departing this evening from JFK via Egyptair MS#986; the only Non Stop service between NYC and Cairo.   Egyptair uses a brand new 777-300 and makes the journey in approximately 10.5 hours.   Then connecting in the afternoon from Cairo to the beautiful historic frontier town of Aswan; considered to by the warmest and sunniest place in all of Egypt.   While in Aswan I will stay at the very lovely Movenpick Resort & Spa located uniquely on Elephantine Island in the middle of the Nile River.

With more than 230 elegantly appointed rooms, gardens, swimming pool and restaurants; The Movenpick is most strategically located and within walking distance to historic Aswan.  After my very brief stopover in Aswan I will board the Sonesta Moon Goddess Nile Cruise for Four Nights cruising upriver to Luxor and stopping at the various historic ports.  Aswan is located approximately 81 miles south of Luxor and the travel time by air between Cairo and Aswan is approximately 1 hour.
