Departing tomorrow on Saturday, May 9th via United Airlines #1533 non stop from Newark Liberty International to San Juan, Puerto Rico.   The Waldorf Astoria El Conquistador Resort offers a spectacular location; perched up on a cliff overlooking the Caribbean Sea as well as The Atlantic Ocean.  The Resort is located in the Fajardo, Las Cabezas natural reserve promontory in the northeastern tip of Puerto Rico.   The area is rich with numerous natural wonders such as the nearby El Yunque Rainforest and the Waldorf’s own private Palomino Island with natural sand beaches.   The Resort offers a multitude of accommodations cascading up and down the mountainside with spectacular views.  There is also a funicular connecting the main building to the Marina and Yacht basin below with additional accommodations.  Championship Golf Course, Tennis Courts, and an award winning Spa await.  For those wishing more privacy the Resort also offers the luxurious Las Casitas Village with its own private butler service and separate reception checkin area.

Puerto Rico is a perfect long weekend getaway from New York City offering numerous non stop flights throughout the day and evening as well as easy airport access without the delays of having to go through customs and immigration.   Upon landing in San Juan I will pick my Hertz Rental Car and head southeast through Carolina and then Route 3 East passing through Rio Grande on the way to Fajardo approximately 94KM or 1 to 1/2 hours.
