On Friday, October 4th I will begin a long weekend journey out west primarily to explore The Navajo Tribal Park of Monument Valley, Utah.   Since the travel time to Monument Valley involves at least a 5-6 hour driver no matter how or where you fly to; I thought to take a brief stopover in and around Phoenix, Arizona since it seems to be the most convenient airport to fly in and out of in order to visit Monument Valley.   This will also allow me an opportunity to visit two of my very own Waldorf Astoria brand hotels; The Boulders which is absolutely amazing and located just north of Phoenix in a lovely golf resort community called Carefree, Arizona.   I am very excited to return to The Boulders Resort a place where I once stayed many years ago and always wanted to return.   The rock formation landscape is carefully blended into the architecture or viceversa where each room or casita is designed hacienda style or really very much like a boulder rock formation.   Its quite unique and strikingly beautiful to listen to the calls of nature in early morning or late at night.  The luxurious amenities and facilities of the Resort together with the pampering Waldorf service makes this dessert resort a great place to visit or stopover on the way to Monument Valley.   So early tomorrow morning I will take United Airlines non stop service from Newark to Phoenix; approximately 5 hours later I will pick up a Hertz Rental Car and drive north just passed Scottsdale to the lovely Resort town of Carefree, Arizona and being my journey with a luxurious stopover at The Boulders Waldorf Astoria Resort!!   Cannot wait to be there!!!
