Chai’s Island Bistro is definitely my number one favorite restaurant in Honolulu and probably in all of Hawaii. I was fortunate enough to have been invited by my Halekulani Les Clefs d’Or Concierge friends Susan Koki and Frank Hernandez to dine recent at Chai’s Island Bistro. Chef Chai Chaowasaree has been voted as the number one most friendly and amicable Chef and Restauranteur in Hawaii. His kind heart and generosity is well known to the local community. Chef Chai is also one of the forerunners of promoting local Hawaiian and home grown ingredients and belongs to a consortium of Hawaiian Chefs devoted to this type of preparation.
The atmosphere of the restaurant is upscale casual with an interior very true to its cuisine Hawaiian/Asian/Pacific Rim. Dinning options are both indoors and outdoors including a covered pavilion area for private parties and events. There is ample space at the bar and patrons may dine there as well. There is very popular live entertainment nightly and often by some of Hawaii’s best and most famous musicians!
Chai’s Island Bistro is located in the Aloha Tower Marketplace building in Honolulu. The restaurant serves dinner nightly and lunch from Tuesday through Fridays! Chef Chai is there often and enjoys conversing and getting to know patrons and visitors!
The Giant Ginger Coconut Tiger Shrimp, Seared Ahi Tempuera, my favorite Onaga, and very unique Deconstructed Beef Wellington are among signature classic dishes!
